Have a nice trip!
We wish you all a good trip here to the Åland Islands.
The Germans are already on their way and are expected to arrive tomorrow around noon to Mariehamn. There will Virginija and I pick them up. The Swedes will come In the evening with their own cars directly to Dånö - and we are waiting for you, of course.That night at 04:10 will the participants from Finland arrive and they have to wait in the terminal about 30 minutes because the Baltic states participants are arriving 04:50. In this moment a bus will pick you up from the terminal and bring you all to Dånö village. Here we will be waiting for you and you can (if you want) additional sleep for a short while. The weather here is varied. It has been raining all night - but we are waiting for better nice weather - take something warm with you!

Final program
Today I could manage the last "open" program event. Isa Hellström, a famous åländish painter artist will come and introduce you in "aquarell painting". Now I have got all the participants´ names and we have to help each other to connect at the Facebook group.
I have although sent a formula to your teachers which you have to fill in BEFORE you get here!!! Ask about it!!! And help each other in the local group!

Happy easter!
Today I went and visited Dånöstugor, our cabins. In the lovely warm sun lies cabins nestled in the most dramatic nature of Åland can offer. The red granite is still not heated but in three weeks, when you come, can we sit on it and feel the bedrocks heat and power.
There is also the total silence, no car or "thump thump music" destroys the feeling. An environmental camp can not offer better prospects - this was the idea of adding this camp in the quietest and most secluded, most natural part of the Åland Islands. Here we find ourselves and be able to exchange our thoughts and ideas to each other. Environmental work has to do with feelings of what you appreciate. What you appreciate you trying protect.
The cottages are as you see on the pictures of the highest class and you will have all the comfort you desire.

By the way! I'm trying to start a Facebook event with all those involved in the camp. For this to succeed you need to be invited. Some of the participants, I have already found - but most of you I could not identify. So, was so kind and contact either me up with up the name Karsten GHS (GHS = name of my school) or send me an email to steiner@aland.net. You can also look at the events: Baltic Week Camp Aland Island. Here we can make contact with each other and advise on possible things that we need to bring, etc.

Icefree
Good news - the ice disappeared with northerly winds of night from our waters. Thefirst water birds did not last long in coming. A nocturnal bird orchestra can be heardover long distances. Spring has come for real! The picture shows the last remnants of ice sheet for this year outside our house at the beach.

Welcome to my first blog. Here you will be able to follow the preparations for Baltic Week camp on the Åland islands. Here you will find information afterwards - if you are a teacher and you as a student.
